The Stratosphere Tower, standing at 1,149 feet, is the tallest free-standing structure in Nevada. It has four rides at the top of the tower and what the amusement rides lack in number, they make up for in thrills. It has unparalleled views of Las Vegas you’ll remember for a lifetime. The rides on the tower are: X-Scream which is a sort of roller-coaster see-saw positioned over the the edge, Insanity which spins you round whilst holding you over the edge and Big Shot which shoots you up a metal frame positioned on the very top of the tower. The Stratosphere Tower cost $550 million to build. Ground-breaking was held on November 1991, and the crowing spire was put into place by helicopter on Nov. 4, 1995. Also, free admission to the tower is available with the Las Vegas Power Pass.
The hotel offers a full service salon and spa, casual and fine dining, a large action packed casino, entertainment, and unbeatable views. It also has a convenience store that sells gifts, souvenirs, toiletries, jewelry and snacks. It contains two video-game arcades, including a large one encircling the tower’s base. It is located at one side of the strip; the main attractions are not really in walking distance but there is a bus that is next to the hotel that is very convenient to use. Whether you like playing at some of best USA online casinos or prefer land-based casinos, there’s lots to do in the hotel with casino, shops and restaurants.
Rooms
Rooms and suites are contained within three separate buildings, the largest a relatively modest 24 stories, but the stand-out feature is of course the 1,149 foot Stratosphere Tower , the highest point in Las Vegas and the eighth tallest structure in the USA. There are no guest rooms in the tower, but the top has a selection of amenities including an observation deck, several rollercoasters, the Chapel in the Clouds , and the revolving Top of the World restaurant. They have a great design as well as all of the amenities such as large TVs, cable, Internet access, comfortable furniture, wonderful concierge service, and much more. They are equipped with a work area and desk with all standard room amenities. Whilst the rooms and casino may not be the swankiest they are far superior than anything we would get at home or on a generic package deal.
The Poker Room & Casino
The poker room in the Stratosphere is a mix of tourists staying on site, plus a good number of north-end locals. A similar mix to the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. The 15 table poker room is situated close to the northern Las Vegas Boulevard entrance that is where most players will enter. After entering that door, walk past the tower ticket booth and the poker room is on the right. If arriving by self parking, go down the escalator and walk all the way across the casino floor following the signs for the tower ticket booth. The poker room will be on the left. It has 12 tables of action for regular Vegas gamblers and tourists. There are also over 1,200 poker machines. PokerStars is the largest online poker site offering the biggest amount of poker games and different game variations including Texas Hold’em, Omaha and other popular poker games. The Stratosphere offers some good travel deals which you should check into if youre hoping to go to Vegas on the cheap, and they also give out some goodies to first time Card Club members
